Support the future of the London Welsh
School
Why we need your support
Like many small schools, we’ve felt the effects of rising costs and the long shadow of the pandemic. While our
current numbers are lower than in past years, our future is full of promise - especially with the incredible growth
of Miri Mawr, our baby and toddler group, which has tripled in size since September 2024.
These little ones are the next generation of pupils - but we need support now to bridge the gap until they’re old
enough to join the school fully.
With your help, we can ensure the London Welsh School not only survives - but flourishes.
Three ways to make a difference
1. Spread the word
Sharing our story is one of the most powerful things you can do.
•
Become a school ambassador: Could your organisation, group, or business support us by sharing our story
on your website or marketing? We’d be delighted to return the favour and celebrate our connection. Contact
us at info@ysgolgymraegllundain.co.uk
•
Share our appeal on social media: Post about the school on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, X, or
LinkedIn. Every share helps us reach more families who may one day join us. We have pinned posts that you
can share easily.
2. Give financially
Every contribution makes a real difference. We’re working hard to close the gap between income and costs over
the next few years, and your support can help us get there.
Ways to donate or fundraise:
•
Make a one-off, or regular, donation via our JustGiving page.
•
Sign up to Easyfundraising to donate while you shop (at no cost to you!): Over 3,000 shops – including
Amazon, John Lewis, and Sainsbury’s – will donate every time you shop online.
•
Join our 50:50 Lottery: Entering the lottery costs £5 a month, with winners drawn quarterly. 50% of the prize
fund goes to the school, 40% to the winner, and 10% to the runner up. Join our 50:50 lottery for a chance to
win!
•
Organise a fundraiser: From bake sales and sponsored walks to quizzes or concerts - your creativity can help
fund the future. Need a hand? Contact us and we’ll be happy to help. Email info@ysgolgymraegllundain.co.uk
or call us on 020 8575 0237
•
Join our Youth Club: Ex-pupils and young Welsh speakers can meet up at our weekly Urdd Youth Club. For
Year 7+ it’s an opportunity to reconnect with old friends and new, and take part in some Urdd activities.
•
Attend one of our upcoming events
3. Put pressure on our politicians
•
Sign our petition asking the Welsh Government to commit to supporting the London Welsh School’s future.
•
Write to your MS if you live in Wales and ask them to support us. Our template email makes it easy. Find the
contact details for your MS here.
Together, we’re building a brighter future
Whether you give a little or a lot, tell a friend or host a fundraiser - your support brings us closer to a thriving
school that celebrates Welsh culture and language.
Thank you for being part of our community - and our future.
Diolch o galon.
